Health team and HSE team of PT. Laman Mining conduct sanitizing program for the port workers and marine personnel

Ketapang skpkNews.com _ PT. Laman Mining, a bauxite mining company, conduct sanitizing program at the port area for all the port workers and the marine personnel that return from sea after completing the loading to the foreign vessel at the open sea. Thursday, March 26,2020.

Before they carry out their duties on the mother vessel, the Health Authority, Customs and Port Authority will conduct health inspections to all the crew members of this foreign vessel. This exercise is to ensure that all crew members of the mother vessel is free from Covid-19 virus.

Since all the crew of the foreign vessel are Chinese nationals, there is a concern that in the event where any of the crew member is infected it will transmit the virus to the other port workers. The screening process by the Indonesian Health Authority prove that the crew members are free from virus, the ship loading activities allowed to proceed.

Upon completion of loading to the foreign vessel, the port workers and marine personnel will return to land and a medical team will conduct covid-19 screening for all. This procedure is to ensure that no one is infected by Covid-19. All of these procedures are conducted to prevent the global transmission of the Covid-19 Virus to the community in the Ketapang district.
